In hindsight, it's clearer to see Soderbergh's aims -- the elevating of the icon before deconstructing him -- but it didn't play that way while I was watching it, and I think your pinpointing the depiction of Che as ultimately one part of the larger collective helps explain why. I hadn't even thought about that but it seems so obvious now that you mention it.<br /><br />I really liked both films and felt that what was interesting about both parts is that they showed how Che's guerrilla warfare tactics were successful in one time and place but applied elsewhere were not for very different reasons.
