Yes, I'm Still Alive

Hello all. Apologies for the break in posting, but I learned a very important lesson last week about what liquid can do to a laptop. I could have sworn I sufficiently understood this without the $2000 demonstration, but c'est la vie.

I will be returning in the coming days with posts on Iron Man 2, Robin Hood and several entries in my various director retrospectives (Carpenter is up next, followed by De Palma and Spielberg before I return to Godard).

In the meantime, I invite you to vent your undoubtedly pent-up frustrations with the lack of unqualified, excessively wordy opinions contained herein by visiting what could be a second home depending on how things turn out. Over at FRED Entertainment (formerly director Kevin Smith's QuickStopEntertainment.com), I'm now writing with a number of other hopefuls for however long the site runners wish to let me carry on. Up now is a longer take on one of my favorite and most cherished films of recent years, Oliver Assayas's Summer Hours. There is obviously some ground shared between the two (and even a few sentences, though I've reworked them), but I tried to make a good first impression. So head on over and check it out, and maybe peruse the rest of the site if it strikes your fancy. I'm not sure yet whether I'll cross-post future articles (if there are any) here as well as there, so there might be a few more of these announcements in the near future.
